2017 MASTERS DIVISION WINNERS
2017 | Residential Buildings | 2nd Place
This building will be used for storage and maintenance of collector cars and a guest home. Due to zoning restrictions, the shop could not have a larger footprint than the home on the lot. Working with local authorities, a guest home was attached to the shop, which met the zoning code requirements.
This home has a loft, full basement with walkout, large windows for natural light and viewing the lake and raftered ceilings to open the layout. Wrap-around porch and deck were added for aesthetics and ease of use. A fully-finished shop and storage area with in-floor heating are also included.
Post frame was a great choice fort the 60 ft. clear span shop. The raftered design for the home allowed for a loft and large windows while keeping the height to a minimum. The energy efficiency of post frame was important due to the size of the structure.
