Building use, importance, and newsworthiness: This complex of three buildings are the new headquarters for Kaltz Excavating, a major underground utilites contractor based in Michigan. The 20 acre Pontiac, Michigan site replaces their existing 4 acre location in Auburn Hills, Mi.

Unique features: The office is a double hip roof design with a reverse gable porch entry finished in cedar and stone. Thin brick system was installed for a brick wainscot, bronze windows and doors, flexible interior finish with multiple offices, men & womens restrooms, two conference rooms and an owners private suite with private full bathroom. Interior load bearing post frame walls were incorporated to reduce the overall span of the 80' width.

Post-frame advantage: OCI demonstrated to the owners early on that post frame would be the quickest, most economical and the best insulated commercial structure they would find.
