Heath Retail Center

Post-frame brought business opportunities in only three months.

WC Buildings, LLC of Newark, Ohio, undertook an ambitious building project in Heath, Ohio for Keinath & Heatwolfe, LLC. The assignment was to construct a four unit commercial building—a strip mall—to be named Heath Retail Center.

New business construction in Heath is quite important for the growing town—and this particular project was of great significance to the community. Heath Retail Center is located on a busy highway and has brought a positive impact to the area’s economy.

The building was designed to have the appearance of a flat roof, but actually has a 2/12 pitch mono truss metal roof system. It features embedded posts on the back wall and monolithic footing on the front three walls with posts attached to the top.

Brick on the front three walls and metal on the back create a maintenance-free exterior. Each unit has a storefront window and door, and features porch style awnings made of Sunbrella® fabric.

Post-frame design and construction was the basis for the entire project. The customer considered "stick built" construction, but in the end rejected that method, as it just was not feasible to meet the desired timeframe. With post-frame construction, contractors completed the project in just three months.

Post-frame construction also met several other factors important to the customer, including a strong curb appeal, efficient cost, and low maintenance.

The new retail center was a pleasant surprise to everyone traveling State Route 79 through Heath. Patrons often commend the builders for how fast it was built and regularly compliment the building for its appearance.
