Blue Grass, IA
Building use, importance, and newsworthiness: The owners were wanting a family vacation Shome to enjoy on one of their rural farms. Scott & Jeanne were wanting a place to host family and friend gatherings. They chose a large living and game room area with loft bedrooms to entertain. The design is a great alternative to a cabin offering large clear span for openness to their beautiful farm and pond.

Unique features: The bronze and sand exterior steel was a peaceful color scheme for their farm surrounded by water and trees. They chose durable verseta stone for wainscoating. Their interior incorporated an open staircase, stained concrete floors and an overlooking 2nd story loft.

Post-frame advantage: The ease and quickness gave the owners a large clear span to their new space. They were also able to design a loft into their second level, giving the owners usable space for bedrooms as well as a shop to park farm equipment.

Cost per Sq. Ft.: $49.11

Duration to complete: 35 shell building days; interior was not finishe until 2018
